Comments: This program on DVD that was created for the
History channel is exactly what it says –the history of the world in two hours
(since it isn’t on TV with ads interrupting, the show is only 88 minutes on
DVD). The program is not very detailed, but such is the case when covering so
much history in so little time. The history focuses mostly on how the stars and
life on Earth has given humans the different elements and substances that we
use today. The connections between natural history and human history are
explored, which I found quite interesting. I recommend this DVD for viewers who
are interested in chemistry, geology, and the influences of humans on the earth
and vice versa. The program doesn’t get into a lot of detail, but it gives a
great overview.
